Reflecting on Life Lessons, Blessings and Intuition

For as long as I can remember I have been able to tap into my intuition. When faced with any decision or when someone told me something I would automatically get a sense about it. It would either make me feel good or bad and came down to an ‘inner knowing’. I’m a Taurus so can be prone to being stubborn - so usually when I have made a decision about something - it is unlikely you will change my mind.
How I have used intuition to navigate my life:
After the birth of my daughter - I was left with urge and stress incontinence. For any woman who suffers or has experienced this - it is life-changing and has a huge impact mentally and emotionally.
When I first went to visit the Urologist - during the consultation he confirmed that my urethral sphincter muscles were now only operating at around 16% and that I was in the worst top 5 percent he had ever seen. This basically means my bladder us unable to hold any liquid and ‘leaks’. The trauma endured from the very fast (45min) labour had damaged my bladder significantly.
His advice was to have surgery - a standard procedure where they would insert up to 3 mesh slings to try and correct my bladder issues. What was interesting was while driving home after the appointment, over the radio the news bulletin said "women and men who have had mesh sling surgery now left in daily pain as their body rejects the mesh inserts". I could feel my whole body cringe - this was a direct message sent to me by spirit and I knew from that moment I was not to proceed with the surgery. I instead chose to go down a more holistic approach seeking assistance from healing practitioners that included reiki, acupuncture, naturopathy and reconnective healing.
The Lesson
I wanted to share this story as if I hadn't listened to my 'gut' instinct I may have proceeded with the surgery and had further ongoing complications. It was my inner knowing and intuition which helped me make the decision that was best for me. Nearly 10 years on, my bladder has improved and is around 90% which is a lot better than 16%. This has been driven by my personal belief that the body has the innate ability to repair and heal itself.
The Blessing
The blessing that has come from this, is not only the birth of my gifted daughter Lexijay (she is a master number 11) but that it ultimately has made me a better healer practitioner. I can connect with my clients on their level as I have been there. I have experienced what it is like to feel alone, depressed, and like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. It has given me a deeper awareness and understanding.
My advice is to learn to listen and trust your own inner knowing.
When you are advised to do something - check in with how your body is responding to it - is it making you feel good or bad? Does it feel heavy or light? Does it make you squirm? In that case - the answer is more likely to be a no.
